Rinaldi String Musicians on Oscar Winning Soundtracks

Three of the musicians who play or have played with Rinaldi String Quartet have played on Oscar Winning movie soundtracks. Founder Anna Rose played on the soundtrack of "Usual Suspects" starring Kevin Spacey. Violinist Alan Busteed played on the soundtrack to "Up". Alumni member Karen Elaine says under her photo next to the Oscar statue " Tonight with Adele".  That was televised for the Oscars TV show. She shared in the win with Adele for Skyfall, and recorded the song with Adele at Capitol Records.

Karen is Grammy nominated and has commissioned and premiered many works for viola by well known modern composers. She has played on various record labels including Harmonia Mundi, Laurel, and Delos to name a very few. You can hear her playing on the Karl Hass radio show that airs daily, "Adventures in Good Music". Watch her on TV playing for America's Got Talent, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, the Academy Awards Oscars TV shows. She plays on a huge number of movie soundtracks and with a great many celebrities on their own recordings, such as Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, there are just too many to mention here.

Alan Busteed, Violinist, served for seven years as professor of chamber music music at the Academia Nacional de Orquestra in Lisbon, Portugal.  In that capacity he performed in solo and chamber music concerts throughout Europe. He has played in first violin sections of the San Diego, Fort Worth and Florida Symphony Orchestras and participated in Master Classes with Yehudi Menuhin, Vladimir Spivakov  and Henryk Szeryng. Alan toured nationally with the Southern California based Hutchins Consort of specialized stringed instruments and served as both guest principal violist and assistant concertmaster for concerts of  the San Diego Chamber Orchestra. He studied jazz with Billy Taylor, Yusef Lateef, and Don Cherry and joined forces with saxophonist Archie Shepp. 

He has been on stage as a solo violinist with salsa's extraordinary Fania All Stars and played locally with the Latino music group Charangoa in Los Angeles.  A concertmaster and solo violinist for independent film scoring in Los Angeles, he was also a member of the recent Oscar winning symphony orchestra for the Pixar film, "Up!"  Alan has concertized with Trio del Mer, a classical piano trio, with cellist Ruslan Biryukov and pianist Mary Au.  After undergraduate study at the Manhattan School of Music, in New York City, he was the first violinist in the acclaimed Ensemble Sepia chamber music group and the founding violinist with the Orion Piano Trio. Anna Rose has performed with Jackie Evancho, the great Smokey Robinson, Burt Bacharach, Natalie Cole, Dionne Warwick, Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis Pierce Brosnan, Page & Plant of Led Zeppelin. Additionally she has taken part in orchestras accompanying Josh Groban, Donna Summer, American Idol Clay Aiken, Henri Mancini, Marvin Hamlisch, Bob Hope, Pavarotti, Joan Sutherland, Michael Crawford, Yanni, Moody Blues, Dave Brubeck, Mannheim Steamroller, Luis Miguel, John Tesh, David Sandborn, Bread, Carole Bayer Sager, Rudolph Nureyev. She has performed for more than 75 celebrities and has been pictured in People Magazine.
